Last Day in Cyprus - Sat. June 11

The symposium has ended, and we leave today for Romania. It has been a marvelous and stimulating experience. Some of the highlights include meeting Maor from Israel, a young Ph.D student studying in Germany, connecting with so many others from many countries and having deep and meaningful conversations. David has participated fully, attending the presentations and experiencing the entire scope of the Cyprus situation. Thursday afternoon, we crossed over to the North (Turkish Cypriot side)and walked around for hours. Some photos are posted here.

Friday night, the entire group of symposium participants gathered by the sea for a "beach party", and we said farewell to all. As I write this, we are having breakfast and will soon prepare for departure to Romania. We fly Wizz Air, a small European airlines, direct from Cyprus to Cluj Napoca in the north of Romania in Transylvania. With no reservations except for the night of our arrival, we will drive through the country and explore as we go. Stay tuned in the next few days for new postings from there.

  1. I love seeing the pictures. Especially the Turkish delights. Human candy. I can't wait to hear how you fare in Translyvania. Will the terrorist meet count Dracula? I'd love a token from there... Hopefully Wizz Air does its job today! Keep writing. Love, Aleen
